YALLA App Guide: AFCON 2025 Fan ID & Visa
Tournament kicks off December 21
Looking for the official YALLA app for your Fan ID and e-visa? Here's the direct link: yallamorocco.ma
Looking to elevate your AFCON trip beyond the stadium? You're in the right place.
The naming coincidence is fortunate. "Yalla" means "let's go" in Arabic. Whether you're sorting your entry documents or planning what happens between matches, the sentiment applies.
AFCON 2025 Entry Requirements
The Official YALLA App: What You Need to Know
The YALLA app is Morocco's official digital gateway for AFCON 2025. Developed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Morocco's Local Organizing Committee, it serves three essential functions:
Fan ID Registration
Every person entering an AFCON stadium or official fan zone requires a Fan ID. This isn't optional. Without it, you won't pass through the turnstiles. The Fan ID links your identity to your tickets and, where applicable, your visa or travel authorization.
Fan ID Requirements
Valid passport: details must match exactly
Recent photograph: standard ID photo requirements
Proof of ticket purchase: CAF ticketing confirmation
Smartphone: YALLA app must be installed
Without Fan ID, you will not enter any AFCON venue. No exceptions.
E-Visa and Travel Authorization
For supporters who need a visa to enter Morocco, the YALLA app provides integrated e-visa processing, now free of charge for AFCON attendees. This represents a significant departure from standard visa fees and reflects Morocco's commitment to making the tournament accessible.
The e-visa through YALLA applies specifically to AFCON travel. Non-football visitors must continue using Morocco's standard visa procedures through acces-maroc.ma.
Real-Time Tournament Information
Beyond documentation, the app delivers match schedules, venue maps, transport guidance, and official tournament updates. It's designed to be your single source of truth throughout AFCON.
Who Needs What: Entry Requirements by Country
Visa-Exempt Countries (Fan ID Only)
Citizens of these nations enter Morocco visa-free and need only register for their Fan ID through the YALLA app:
Most of Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, and approximately 60 other countries maintain visa-free access to Morocco. If your nationality typically allows visa-free tourist travel to Morocco, that status remains unchanged for AFCON.
AEVM Countries (Temporary Electronic Travel Authorization)
Temporary AEVM Requirement: Sep 25, 2025 – Jan 25, 2026
Citizens of eight African countries require an Electronic Travel Authorization (AEVM) to enter Morocco during this period, even though they normally travel visa-free:
Algeria • Burkina Faso • Cape Verde • Gabon • Niger • Senegal • Togo • Tunisia
For AFCON ticket holders, the AEVM is processed directly through the YALLA app alongside Fan ID registration. Free and integrated.
Non-football travelers from AEVM countries must apply through acces-maroc.ma at least 96 hours before departure.
Exemptions from AEVM requirements:
- Holders of diplomatic, service, or official passports
- Foreign nationals legally residing in Morocco
- Transit passengers remaining in the international zone
- Spouses and children of Moroccan citizens (with documentation)
- Travelers aged 55 and older
E-Visa Countries (Standard Visa Required)
Citizens of countries that typically require a Moroccan visa (including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and others) can apply for their e-visa directly through the YALLA app. The e-visa is free for AFCON supporters, eliminating what would normally be a paid consular process.
Country-Specific Guidance
For Nigerian Supporters
Nigeria plays in Group C with matches in Fez. The Super Eagles face Tunisia (December 23), Uganda (December 30), and Tanzania (December 26).
Visa: Nigeria requires a standard Moroccan visa. Apply through the YALLA app for free AFCON e-visa processing. Standard processing takes 72 hours; express processing is available within 24 hours.
Getting there: Direct flights from Lagos to Casablanca on Royal Air Maroc. Connecting options through Addis Ababa (Ethiopian) or Cairo (EgyptAir). From Casablanca, Fez is 3 hours by train or 45 minutes by domestic flight.
Between matches: Fez offers Morocco's most complete medina experience. Three days between group matches allows time for the Atlas Mountains or the blue city of Chefchaouen, both within day-trip range.
For Senegalese Supporters
Senegal plays in Group D with matches in Tangier. Les Lions face Botswana (December 23), DR Congo (December 27), and Benin (December 30).
Travel authorization: Senegal falls under the temporary AEVM requirement. Apply through the YALLA app alongside your Fan ID. Processing is free and integrated.
Getting there: Direct flights from Dakar to Casablanca. Tangier is connected to Casablanca by Africa's first high-speed rail (2 hours) or domestic flights (1 hour).
Between matches: Tangier sits at the meeting point of Atlantic and Mediterranean. The Rif Mountains and Chefchaouen are 90 minutes away. For supporters with four days between matches, a Sahara excursion is possible with precise logistics.
For Algerian Supporters
Algeria plays in Group E with matches in Rabat. Les Fennecs face Burkina Faso (December 24), Sudan (December 28), and Equatorial Guinea (December 31).
Travel authorization: Algeria falls under the temporary AEVM requirement. Apply through the YALLA app alongside your Fan ID. The process is free for AFCON ticket holders.
Getting there: Direct flights from Algiers to Casablanca or Rabat. Rabat's position as Morocco's capital means excellent domestic connections.
Between matches: Rabat combines medina character with modern infrastructure. Day trips to Fez, Chefchaouen, or the coast at El Jadida are straightforward. Four days between the second and third group match allows for deeper exploration.

Making the Most of Your Time in Morocco
AFCON 2025 runs from December 21 through January 18: nearly a month of football across six Moroccan cities. Your team will play three group matches, potentially more if they advance. Between those matches: days in a country most visitors barely scratch the surface of.
The Six Host Cities
Host City Quick Reference
Rabat: Capital, 4 stadiums, opening match and final (69,500 capacity)
Casablanca: International hub, Hassan II Mosque, Round of 16 and 3rd place
Marrakech: Atlas backdrop, 6 group matches, quarter-final (45,240 capacity)
Tangier: Largest venue (75,000), Atlantic meets Mediterranean
Fez: Spiritual capital, UNESCO medina, group and knockout rounds
Agadir: Beach resort, warmest weather, Atlas and coast (45,480 capacity)
Rabat is Morocco's administrative capital and hosts four stadiums, more than any other city, including the tournament's opening match and final. The Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium (69,500 capacity) serves as the flagship venue. Beyond football, Rabat combines medina character with modern capital infrastructure. The Kasbah of the Udayas overlooks the Atlantic. The Hassan Tower and Mohammed V Mausoleum anchor the city's historical core.
Casablanca is Morocco's economic capital and largest city. The Mohammed V Stadium hosts group matches, a round of 16 fixture, and the third-place playoff. Casablanca is urban Morocco: the Hassan II Mosque (the world's third-largest), the Art Deco downtown, the Corniche along the coast. It's also the country's primary international hub, with direct flights from most major African and European cities.
Marrakech features the Grand Stade de Marrakech (45,240 capacity) sitting against the Atlas Mountains, hosting six group matches, a round of 16 match, and one quarter-final. Marrakech itself needs no introduction. The Jemaa el-Fnaa, the souks, the riads and palaces of the medina. What visitors often underestimate is the quality of what lies outside the city: the High Atlas, the Ourika Valley, the Agafay desert, the coast at Essaouira. All within day-trip range between matches.
Tangier hosts the Grand Stade de Tanger (75,000 capacity), the largest venue at AFCON 2025, named after Ibn Battuta, the Moroccan explorer who traveled farther than Marco Polo. Tangier sits at the Strait of Gibraltar, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. The city has reinvented itself in the past decade: new infrastructure, a revitalized port, restored medina. For European visitors, Tangier feels surprisingly close. For supporters with time between matches, the Rif Mountains and the Mediterranean coast open within an hour's drive.
Fez is home to the Fès Sports Complex hosting group matches and knockout rounds. Fez is Morocco's spiritual and intellectual capital, home to the world's oldest continuously operating university and a medina so vast it remains a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tanneries, the foundouks, the centuries of scholarly tradition. Fez moves at a different pace than Morocco's other cities.
Agadir hosts the Adrar Stadium (45,480 capacity) near both the Atlantic coast and the Atlas Mountains, creating one of the tournament's most scenic venues. Agadir itself is a beach resort. Warmer than anywhere in Europe in December, with consistent sunshine and the surf culture that draws winter visitors. Beyond the beaches: the Anti-Atlas, the Souss Valley, the argan forests, the gateway to Morocco's deep south.
