The Menzeh pavilion stands in the middle of La Mamounia's gardens, above the olive rows and the orange walk. Tea is served there from two until five: Pierre Hermé macarons in Moroccan flavors, Moroccan pastries reworked in his kitchen, finely cut sandwiches, and mint tea grown on the property.
Take the long way in, through the gardens rather than the lobby. The olive grove is older than the hotel itself, and the rose beds are replanted twice a year.
Le Menzeh closes for high summer, from late June to early September, when tea moves indoors to the Salon de Thé. Smart dress, and no children's rate. Suits a slow late afternoon, and travelers who want the hotel without committing to dinner.

Afternoon tea is not served during Ramadan. La Mamounia runs an iftar at Le Marocain from sunset instead, which we can book in its place.
