05:30 collection from your riad, in the dark
06:00 the Palmeraie launch field: briefing, and the envelope inflated in front of you

Why it works this way

Both halves are honest about their own length. The balloon is a three-hour ground-and-air experience inside a four-hour door-to-door morning, not the six-hour epic some listings imply — you are genuinely home by half nine. The Agafay is four hours on site and correctly windowed as an evening, never a day. Because they sit at opposite ends of the clock and in different directions (north to the Palmeraie, south-west to the Agafay), there is no chaining problem: you return to the riad between them. The 09:30–16:15 window is scheduled as rest on purpose, because that is when Marrakech is at 40C and when a Gulf family would be resting anyway. In Ramadan the Agafay table becomes iftar and the balloon moves to the following morning; guests fasting should take one block, not both.

Suits: Couples, and Gulf families travelling May to September who want the two good ends of a hot day and none of the middle. Party of two to four — the balloon basket caps at four, and this is the constraint that quietly breaks the day for a family of six.
