دار الباشا وقهوة الباشا

Dar El Bacha was Thami El Glaoui's town house, and everyone from Churchill to Josephine Baker passed through it. Restored in 2017 as the Musée des Confluences, it holds rotating exhibitions on the religions and trades that met in Marrakech, though the building is the real exhibit: zellige, plasterwork cut by hand, and four orange trees around the fountain.

Through the far door is Bacha Coffee, where more than two hundred single origins are served from gold pots by staff in white. The room takes no bookings, so we go through at opening, before the queue builds.

Two hours, seated for half of it. The museum closes on Tuesdays. Coffee is served through the day outside Ramadan.
