El lago de Lalla Takerkoust

Lalla Takerkoust is held by a dam the French built between 1929 and 1935, below the Kik plateau. Fifty minutes from Gueliz, the water sits deep blue against dry hills, and the far shore is Atlas.

The day is deliberately unstructured. A terrace lunch by the water, lake fish or a tagine, then a swim, a pedalo, or nothing at all under a parasol until the light softens. Riders can take the trail along the shore. If you want a view rather than a chair, the road up to the Kik plateau is twenty minutes and looks down over the whole basin.

This asks less of you than anything else we sell, and nothing is easier with small children. The day after a long drive is where it belongs.
